- Racking
- Removing relatively clear wine from the solids and yeast cells that have settled in the tank or barrel and putting it into a clean tank or barrel.
- Rootstock
- The vine’s root system and the primary conveyor of water and nutrients from the soil to the vine’s trunk and arms. Rootstock can be particularly vulnerable to Phylloxera.
- Rotary Fermenter
- Fermentation vessel that rotates on its side to gently mix skins and juice. Also called Horizontal Rotary Fermenter.
