Bella Cucina Artful Food and Alisa Barry

Born with a love of cooking, Alisa Barry describes it as part of her soul. As a student, she traveled to Italy and fell in love with it -- all of it - the people, the landscape, the language, and most of all, their love of simple, fresh food. Her life's passion has been infusing her love of cooking and Italian culture into her everyday life.

In 1993, after years of cooking and living in California's Wine Country, she opened a small café in Atlanta, Georgia called Bella Cucina. Bella Cucina Artful Food is an outgrowth of that café. Alisa's initial intention was simply to create a pantry of ingredients that her café customers could take home and enjoy in their own kitchens. Eventually, the food products sold so well, she closed the doors of Bella Cucina Cafe to concentrate on the Bella Cucina Artful Food line.

Since then, Bella Cucina Artful Food has expanded to over 50 products. The Mediterranean-inspired pantry includes vintage-dated olive oils, beautifully packed preserved lemons, Sicilian citrus marmellatas, pasta sauces, a range of nine best-selling pestos, and kitchen accessories.

Bella Cucina Artful Food has won numerous awards including twice being awarded the prestigious "Outstanding Product Line" by the International Fancy Food Association.

In 2003 Alisa achieved another milestone, the release of her first cookbook: LA BELLA VITA, Recipes and Inspiration from the Creator of Bella Cucina Artful Food. It includes more than 50 recipes using the Bella Cucina Artful Food products, and was photographed on location in Tuscany, Italy. It subsequently was awarded the gold medal for non food product by the International Fancy Food Association.

As the chef and owner of Bella Cucina Artful Food, Alisa continues to develop new products, recipes and ideas, making Bella Cucina Artful Food the perfect New Mediterranean Pantry.

The mission of Bella Cucina Artful Food is t o enhance the lives of others through the beauty, sustenance and spirit of artful food .
